As we reported she would do last May
, Andi Davis
of Hot Springs on Monday voluntarily surrendered her law license.
She hopes that will clear some pending disciplinary actions.
The action was anticipated when Davis entered a plea bargain that gave her a probationary sentence on a felony manslaughter charge. It arose from the shooting death of Maxwell Anderson in her home in 2012. She contended Anderson was shot by her brother to defend her from Anderson's attack with a golf club. The deal also included the dropping of drug and other charges against Davis.
The Davis case drew unusual attention because she was linked in a divorce filing by her ex-husband to some prominent people, including then-Attorney General Dustin McDaniel. That, in turn, led to McDaniels' decision to bypass a race for governor in 2014.
