Beware: Sen. Jason Rapert is armed (if not with good judgment)

What would a weekend be without Sen. Jason Rapert going off half-cocked on social media. As usual, the tale turns on a world of which Rapert seems terribly fearful.

First this, from Facebook:

Following is the Rapert Twitter post:

I asked Rapert later on Twitter if he meant to imply that harassment would be ground for shooting someone in a parking lot. These replies followed (read from bottom up chronologically)

Do mere words cross the line into Rapert-will-blow-you-away territory? Safest advice seems to be don't ask the senator questions on the Lowe's parking lot.

I had a slightly deeper thought about Rapert's feeling you best expect armed resistance in Arkansas to perceived "threats" and "harassment" (meaning, here, questions).  It occurred to me  that my kids are the fourth generation of families that, so far as I know, in a cumulative 1,500 years of living on the planet by kids, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents and siblings, not once has had an occasion for a need for a gun — except for bird hunting or military duty. But, should I ever have to visit the Lowe's in Conway ......

UPDATE: I got a twitter blast from Sen. Rapert later in which he says his Twitter about parking lot confrontations was not about Lance White. He said he remembered that encounter and the person at Lowe's was merely "rude, not threatening." Which doesn't exactly explain what prompted the coincidentally timed remarks. Maybe being Rapert means getting questions all the time.

But, hey, look here. Maybe it could be the start of a great friendship.
