The U.S. attorney's office announced today that former Searcy Police Chief Jeremy Clark, 36, had pleaded guilty to misdemeanor possession of hydrocodone and was sentenced Monday by Magistrate Joe Volpe to one year of probation, to include drug counseling and random drug tests, and a $1,000 fine.

Clark also agreed to surrender his law enforcement certification to the Arkansas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Training and not seek certification again. He also agreed not to seek employment with any law agency, whether in paid, elected or volunteer work.

Clark resigned as police chief March 3, the day agents executed a search warrant for his home.
