You know what they say: If you can afford to duck hunt, you can afford an Apple watch.
Well, OK, maybe I just made that up. But I didn't make this up. The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission has proudly unveiled an
Apple watch app to go with a iPhone app already in use.
Note the illustration provided with the news release. It will notify watch wearers if the sun is up. It will provide location-sensititve sunrise and sunset times, information about hunting seasons and other data.
“We focused on what would be most important for hunters in the field who are using wearable devices,” AGFC Chief Technology Officer Mark Vaught said. “Through our partnership with the Information Network of Arkansas, we designed the new Apple Watch app to enable hunters to see when it’s officially time to shoot. It truly helps hunters comply with regulations in a hands-free way that keeps them safe and focused on their hunt.”
Game and Fish said 122,000 have downloaded the existing phone app and used it to check in 47,000 deer and turkey kills.
