The Little Rock police announced that the department will hold a memorial service at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Immanuel Baptist Church to honor Titus, a K9 officer, or police dog, and his handler Officer Jason Farmer.
July 15, Titus died after a long foot chase of a suspect with property stolen from a vehicle. Titus was released to subdue the suspect, who was resisting. The dog died after failing to respond to treatment for heat stress.
Titus worked the 3-11 p.m. shift for three years. Said a release: "Titus was loved by the community and his fellow officers and will be deeply missed."
