Talk Business notes the death of William H. “Buddy” Sutton, retired managing partner of the Friday Law Firm, whose lengthy resume included numerous professional and civic achievements.

* Gavin Lesnick of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports that Little Rock Police Chief Kenton Buckner collared a suspected cell phone thief after a woman shouted about the theft while Buckner was sitting in a car downtown.

* KARK reports that Hot Springs is prepared to buy the Majestic Hotel property, now a pile of rubble following a huge fire. It would pay $680,000 and the owner would have to agree to enter a no-contest plea to code violations and pay resulting fines. The city would also be responsible for completing the cleanup of rubble from the 2014 fire.
