UPDATE 5:08 p.m., June 16: Information previously released by DHS incorrectly said Brandon had two misdemeanors on his record, when in fact he had both a misdemeanor and a non-violent felony. DHS provided a correction today.

The Arkansas Department of Human Services released a statement today regarding the ongoing search for a 17-year-old boy who disappeared from a juvenile treatment center in Saline County on Saturday night.

According to the statement, the youth, identified as 17-year-old Brandon Price, was last seen around 8 p.m. Saturday at the Arkansas Juvenile Assessment and Treatment Center.  The center, located near Bryant close to the Pulaski/Saline County line, is operated by G4S, a private contractor that runs the facility for the state.

A canine team has been brought in to search the 108-acre campus of the facility. From the statement:

There is no indication that Brandon has left the facility. But out of an abundance of caution, the Department of Human Services Division of Youth Services (DYS) is releasing certain information to the public in case he was able to breach the razor wire-topped fence. Brandon is a white male with brown hair who stands 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighs 110 pounds and is from Washington County. He was wearing a white t-shirt and Khaki pants.

Brandon has been at the facility for almost two months for non-violent, misdemeanor offenses a misdemeanor and a felony charge, both non-violent.

DYS and G4S are both conducting investigations into the incident. Anyone who encounters Price or believes they have information about his whereabouts is encouraged to call local law enforcement.
