Here’s the open line and today’s video. Also, of course Mike Huckabee doesn’t apologize for making juvenile jokes about transgender people. Anybody who objects to crude, buffoonish humor is just a slave to political correctness. Or good manners.

Has Mike Huckabee ever apologized? Also:

* HOT STUFF: It appears a copper thief took some of the innards from at least one of the air conditioning units that cools the state Insurance Department. Repairs are underway, but the employees labored on in somewhat steamy conditions.

* MARRIAGE EQUALITY: Circuit Judge Wendell Griffen said today he’d rule soon on a lawsuit seeking state recognition of same-sex couples’ marriages for purposes of, among others, filing Arkansas tax returns. This case raises essentially the same issue — Arkansas giving credit to legal marriages in other states — raised in pending appeals in state and federal court on Judge Chris Piazza’s ruling invalidating the state’s same-sex marriage ban and extension of any benefits to same-sex couples given married heterosexual couples. But it applies specifically here to those who married in the week before the Supreme Court stopped enforcement of Judge Chris Piazza’s ruling that invalidated the state ban on same-sex marriages. If the past is a guide, should Judge Griffen rule for the plaintiffs, the state will seek a stay of the ruling as before. Griffen said he’d rule in two days. The state argued that nobody married that week were legally married because Piazza had failed to issue an injunction in his original order. A correction to that order a few days later was invalid, the state argues.
