Arkansas Business reports
that Terry Hartwick
, a former North Little Rock mayor who's been heading the North Little Rock Chamber of Commerce,
is to become head of the City Parks and Recreation Department,
succeeding Bob Rhodes
when he retires at the end of this year.
Hartwick says he'll use the post to promote North Little Rock more aggressively as a place to hold sports events.
The city has heavily subsidized the chamber with public money, a practice held unconstitutional in a recent lawsuit.
The legislature has proposed a constitutional amendment to legalize such subsidies that will be on the ballot in 2016.
