HUCKABEE: Tis the season of prayerful consideration.
Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee is expected to announce that he's running for president in his hometown of Hope. The announcement, a foregone conclusion, will come at 10 a.m. Tony Orlando is on hand
, so there's that. Fellow Christian Right crusader Ralph Reed pointed out to CNN
that Huck has come a long way from Hope:
"I hate to say it, but I mean, give me a break. You live in a $5 million house in the panhandle," said Ralph Reed, founder of the Faith and Freedom Coalition. "He says, 'I live in the redneck Riviera. Those $5 million houses on the beach? Those ain't redneck."
Here's the New York Times Upshot blog
on why Huckabee may have an outsized impact on the race even if he's probably not a viable national candidate.
