On Wednesday, about 1:19 p.m., Officer Kelly Lepore responded to a burglary  at 5524 C. Street (a block south of Lee Avenue between Van Buren and University). Officers set up a perimeter until an officer with a police dog arrived. The dog was able to pick up a track and located a suspect, taken into custody without incident. The dog then picked up a second scent and found a second suspect hiding behind a house. He also was arrested without incident. Charges are pending. One handgun and several other items were recovered from the two 16-year-old suspects.
