The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette coverage today of Little Rock’s passage of a non-discrimination ordinance identified the sponsor, Director Kathy Webb, as “gay.” Fact. She’s, as the saying used to go, an open lesbian.
Does it matter? Should other members of the Board be identified as to their sexual orientation and marital status?
When another city leader somewhere introduces a civil rights ordinance (as many have), should we identify them as heterosexual, if they are?
Discuss.
When a certain former legislator who inherited a vast family fortune testified for a capital gains tax reduction, should he have been identified as filthy rich?
