Professional boxer Jermain Taylor pleaded not guilty
to five counts of aggravated assault and single counts of terroristic threatening and possession of a controlled substance today in Pulaski County Circuit Court.
The charges stem from an incident at the Little Rock Martin Luther King Jr. Day Parade in January, when Taylor allegedly became enraged after a child dropped Taylor's championship belt. Taylor then allegedly fired several shots into the air, including one close to the child's father's head.
Judge Leon Johnson set Taylor's trial for Sept. 5.
