In the zone: A light lobbying schedule includes a pitch for cities

The party never ends for the Arkansas legislature, despite Amendment 94's supposed ban on freebies. Plan an "event" and, presto, freebies pour.

Mondays are a little light, however.

RECEPTION: 4:30-6:30, Vino's, Arkansas Hospital Association, Arkansas Community Colleges and AT&T.

PIZZA AND PRAYER: 6-7:30 p.m., Capitol Room 19, Capitol Commission, a private group that promotes religion in government.

DINNER: 6 p.m., Brave New Restaurant, for the House City, County & Local Affairs Committee by the Arkansas Municipal League. This is a publicly funded lobby. Pray they pour a lot of the good stuff. This committee has members intent on essentially junking city zoning regulations under the "spurious" takings argument. You know: You are "taking" from me if you prevent location of a hog crap lagoon on my property. Yes, of course, Sen. Bart Hester is behind this one, with Bullet Bob Ballinger in second chair.
