Plaintiffs in Faulkner County lawsuits
that are among many filed over the 2013 ExxonMobil Pegasus pipeline
break that gushed heavy crude in Mayflower are making progress toward an October trial of several consolidated cases.
In a news release, lawyers said Judge Charles Clawson had held a hearing today in which 12 of 18 plaintiffs had been selected to represent those seeking damages in five of eight delineated zones around the spill. Plaintiffs have six more to select in the other three zones, including some most heavily affected by the spill.
The cases cover hundreds of residents and businesses with damage claims.
