  • EUREKA IS FOR LOVERS; Part of the crowd on Valentine's Day in Eureka Springs, where a Mardis Gras parade drew colorful participants.

Greetings on a fine Saturday. Full weather panic is underway at the grocery store, I can attest. In other news, in addition to the report from Kat Robinson that a huge crowd turned out for the Mardi Gras/Valentine's Day parade in Eureka Springs. Before noon, the Eureka Springs Chamber of Commerce, which represents the only place in Arkansas that prohibits legal discrimination against LGBT people, had run out of the stock of chocolates it was giving away, expecting 2,000 people. Also:

HOMICIDE ARREST: They've arrested a 39-year-old Helena man in the fatal stabbing early Friday morning of a man still unidentified in the 2400 block of W. 65th Street, the second homicide on that street in a week.

UPDATE: Just saw this on Facebook. A very peaceful "love-in" demonstration outside the Arkansas Governor's Mansion imploring the governor not to discriminate against gay people.
