More guns in school on agenda today

A day without guns at the Arkansas legislature is rare. Today is no exception:

* GUNS IN SCHOOL: John Lyon at Stephens Media reports that a House committee today approved a measure already passed by the Senate to abolish the state board that regulates private security officers and clears the way for certifying public school staff members to be licensed as security guards to carry concealed weapons in class. A few schools were grandfathered in before a legal question put a halt to further licensing by the regulatory board. The State Police will take over all responsibility for licensing. And keep the armed schools staff members coming. One school district won licenses for classroom teaches, something even former NRA spokesman and Gov. Asa Hutchinson once said he didn't endorse.
