TOGETHER AGAIN: Tracy Steele and Asa Hutchinson at campaign endorsement.
Gov. Asa Hutchinson
has put three former legislators to work as legislative liaisons, effectively lobbyists, for this session.
They are former Republican Rick Green
and former Democratic Reps. Tommy Wren
and Tracy Steele
Green, who lost a race for Senate in 2012 against Bruce Holland, is paid $250 a day as lead liaison and Wren and Steele make $200 a day, said spokesman J.R. Davis.
Steele, who resigned as director of the Department of Youth Services shortly before the end of Gov. Mike Beebe's term, endorsed Hutchinson
. Hutchinson still lost the black vote badly to Mike Ross. His brother, Michael Steele's ad business with the state drew questions
from Republican legislators in the past. Wren was defeated for re-election by Republican Michelle Gray
