Little Rock police released a couple of reports on thefts in our downtown neighborhood in recent days.

Employees of Gus’s Fried Chicken at 300 President Clinton Avenue noticed a small safe had been taken from a storage closet shortly before 9 p.m. Saturday. A police report said no money was taken. They have a security camera, but it was down during the time the safe went missing.

Also over the weekend, a Missouri woman said her daughter left a door ajar of room 1414 in the Marriott Hotel at the Statehouse Convention Center about 10:25 p.m. Saturday and a man stepped in, said “here we go,” grabbed the older woman’s purse and fled. The purse was found later on the 10th floor, but was missing cash and a pair of prescription sunglasses.
