Preston Scroggin, director of the Arkansas Livestock and Poultry Commission, tells me he got the word this week that he’ll be replaced by incoming Gov. Asa Hutchinson.
Scroggin, director for two years, said he got the word yesterday from Michael Lamoureux, Hutchinson’s chief of staff and was told former Sen. Bruce Holland of Greenwood would be succeeding him. I’ve sent a query to Hutchinson’s staff to confirm.

Scroggin said he’d return to his family farm at Vilonia. The job pays about $100,000. He’ll be on the job until Jan. 21.
Holland was defeated in a race for re-election by Terry Rice. I like to refer to Holland as “Fireball,” after his high-speed run to attempt to evade Perry County constabulary.
