State tax revenue runs ahead of forecast


State tax collections continued above forecast in December, with the net for the first six months of the year running $44 million ahead of forecast.

In December, gross collections were 1.7 percent above last year and 2.3 percent, or $12 million, above forecast. But this was due to gains in corporate income taxes and tax refunds below projections. A couple of other major indicators — sales taxes and individual income taxes — both fellow below forecast.
