Michael Armstrong, 30, was stabbed twice in the back and robbed of his Windstar van after stopping at Zimmerman's Exxon at 5223 S. University about 1 a.m. Sunday morning. A 17-year-old suspect was arrested driving the van and charged in the crime.

Police said Armstrong, who'd gone out for coffee while filming a horror movie at his residence, told them the young man asked Armstrong if he'd buy cigars for him. Armstrong agreed and got $5 to buy them. When Armstrong came back outside, the suspect stabbed him and demanded his keys. He turned them over and the youth drove away. He was stopped not long after by patrol officers. He was charged with robbery, battery and theft. His name wasn't released because he's a juvenile. Armstrong's condition wasn't immediately known. The police report said he suffered severe lacerations.
