Two men shot after responding to craiglist ad

Two men were wounded during an attempted robbery by a man who'd arranged to meet them about a car for sale on craigslist.

Christopher Whitaker and Bradley Rotenberry, both 36, went to an address on Halifax Drive in Southwest Little Rock about 11 a.m. Tuesday to look at a car Whitaker had seen on craiglist, the Internet want ad site. A man met them but said the car was being test driven by another potential buyer.

After a long wait, as the man handed over some purported papers about the vehicle, he pulled a gun and demanded money. Rotenberry refused and was shot in the right leg. Whitaker tried to grab the gunman, but was grazed on the stomach by another gunshot. The suspect fled and the two victims drove to a hospital for treatment.

PS — Here's an article about a Pennsylvania community that set up a place by a police station to have safe craigslist exchanges.
