The National Organization for Marriage
, an anti-gay group, says it will target Ohio Sen. Rob Portman
for defeat in 2016, either for re-election or in a presidential candidacy, because of his support for same-sex marriage. It worked against at least two gay Republican candidates who lost this year, though not to Democrats who opposed same-sex marriage.
The news warms me a little bit toward Republican victor Tom Cotton.
Portman joined him for a couple of events, including a Razoarback watch party, on the weekend before the election. Cotton even announced publicly
that Portman would be with him on his "road to victory" tour.
