As promised, Prosecuting Attorney Larry Jegley today filed an affidavit in Little Rock district court for a misdemeanor citation against Rodney Forte, director of the Metropolitan Housing Alliance, for violating the Freedom of Information Act in responses to requests for information from the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.

The Democrat-Gazette has reported obstacles to receiving public information from the federally financed agency, controlled by city government appointees. Finally, it complained to the prosecutor when the agency said it would require $16,000 upfront to provide personnel and other records requested by the newspaper.

Here's the affidavit for Forte's arrest.
Violation of the law is a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of up to $200 and 30 days in jail.

No word yet if he has been served.

CORRECTION: I provided an inaccurate term for the document filed Thursday in my original version, now edited.
