Remember Greg Palast? He’s the journalist who blew open Tim Griffin’s role in the Bush “voter caging” scandal in Florida in which Republican operatives schemed to deny the vote to people believed inclined to vote Democratic. This included enlisted black American military men serving overseas. The soldiers’ absence on war duty was the heart of a scheme to get them disqualified from voting in the hotly contested Florida voting.

Palast and caging are back. This just in from people working with Palast:

News coming tomorrow of Palast’s work for Al Jazeera America on efforts by the Republican Party to cancel votes by minorities. The story will deal with supposed voter purges in key senatorial states such as Georgia and North Carolina. Millions have been scrubbed from voter roles, they say, heavily influenced by scrubs of minority voters. More to come. Bears watching. There’s a tangential Arkansas computer connection.

More when we can. But if purging is going on, be sure to cast an eye at Secretary of State-in-hiding Mark Martin, who’s been an enabler of GOP voter suppression for four years.
