Two Saturday night shootings leave two dead in Little Rock

The morning homicide report from LRPD:

Around 11:00 p.m. officers heard multiple gun shots being fired in the area of 24th and Schiller. On arrival they located one male victim suffering from at least one gun shot wound. He was transported to a local hospital and his condition is unknown.

Around 11:30 p.m. officers were called to the 2800 block of Wolfe St. They located one victim in the backseat of a vehicle with a gunshot wound. That victim was deceased.


These shooting locations are about seven blocks apart. It's unknown if they are related.

UPDATE: Police have identified Braylon Moore, 16, as the victim in the shoot at 2100 W. 24th (at the corner of Schiller.)
Several cars and a house were hit by gunfire in the shooting of Moore, who was found outside a house with wounds that proved fatal..

The police said the on Wolfe Street as unrelated to Moore's shooting., but haven't released further details.

The two deaths moved the homicide toll to 38 in Little Rock this year.

UPDATE II: By late afternoon police were saying the two homicides might be connected after all and they were warning reporters of a volatile atmosphere in the neighborhood around 28th and Wolfe.
