U.S. Senator Mark Pryor will join Dr. Nathaniel Smith, Director of the Arkansas Department of Health and UAMS leaders to discuss state and national preparedness for Ebola. Pryor will further detail specific comprehensive measures that need to be taken at the federal level to protect U.S. citizens from Ebola.
Sen. Pryor and Dr. Smith will be joined Friday, October 17 at 1:30 p.m. by UAMS Medical Center CEO, Dr. Roxane Townsend, State Epidemiologist, Dr. Dirk Haselow and UAMS Infectious Disease specialist, Dr. Keyur Vyas.
“We need to work together as a state and nation to protect the spread of this deadly disease,” Pryor said. “This is not a time to play politics. We need a comprehensive strategy because a piece-meal approach is not enough.”
