Another debate, another Republican fixated on Barack Obama

Sorry. A computer crash knocked me off the AETN livestream of the attorney general debate shortly before it began. I'll have to watch it delayed tonight. Twitter feeds suggest a lack of revelations.

Republicans want to talk about Nate Steel having contract work to handle Nashville legal business, which a state law seems to allow. The GOP prefers to call this, along with serving in the legislature, double dipping. Is double dipping like state Rep. Nate Bell and other Republicans in the House drawing a state paycheck and using an artifice to draw tax money to pay wives as putative assistants?

Republican Leslie Rutledge is all about Barack Obama and fighting him. No, she won't release her Human Services personnel records that would show why he supervisors cited her for gross misconduct. No she has nothing to apologize for in circulating a racist e-mail to other DHS workers. Her problems were all created by liberal critics. She promises a vendetta against DHS if elected.

Southern Progress, which is tweeting about the debate, makes a good suggestion. Ask Leslie Rutledge why she got $80,000 from nursing home operator Michael Morton. Does that mean she'll ask the Medicaid fraud division of the a.g. office to go easy on the Fort Smith baron.

Libertarian candidate Aaron Cash worked in a quip about Rutledge calling smart phones "the devil" in the hands of teens.

Bottom line: If you want an attorney general who'll waste time fighting Barack Obama his last two years in office, vote for Leslie Rutledge. If you want an attorney general with solid ideas on carrying out the office's constitutional duties, Nate Steel is the choice.

Southern Progress also tweets that Rutledge wouldn't talk with reporters after the debate.
