Federal Judge Billy Roy Wilson today sentenced Lacey Rae Moore to 16 years in federal prison for setting fires at the Forest Place Apartments, one of which destroyed a building. She also was ordered to make $12.5 million in restitution, likely a symbolic judgment.

Wilson sentenced Moore, 44, who had pleaded guilty, to nine years on one count and seven on another, to be served consecutively.

Moore pleaded guilty Aug. 1 to setting seven fires and using an explosive device. She got the longer sentence for a May 16, 2013 fire that destroyed the North Building and forced evacuation of 350 to 400 people. The other count was for a June 28, 2013 fire in which a firefighter was injured and 100 people were forced out of apartments.
