The Little Rock Board of Directors
is expected to vote Monday on an ordinance to increase regulation of the small number of private club
s with permits to operated until 5 a.m. The ordinance includes required use of law officers for security and sets out probation and other punishment for clubs that cause problems.
The ordinance arose as a compromise from an original proposal to shorten operating hours. Both grew out of a perception on the part of some that the clubs created safety problems. Some directors simply were offended by the idea of people staying out late drinking.
Here's the ordinance on the agenda Monday night.
The meeting begins at 6 p.m.
