Crazy details coming in about a high speed chase in Southwest Arkansas this morning that ended, police say, when the suspect was finally forced to a stop and then shot himself

Police say the driver, who they have identified as 48-year old Randy Jewell of Texarkana, allegedly led police on a high speed chase this morning, with cops in pursuit for about 45 miles. At times during the chase, police said, Jewell fired on officers through the back window of his car.

At least one police car was hit, but no officers were injured in the chase or shooting. Jewell was finally stopped by spike strips near DeQueen, after which his car ran off the road. When officers approached the wreck, they found that Jewell had shot himself.
