Speaking of minimum wage: GOP may oppose it, but they understand good employees deserve more

The Arkansas Republican Party, which includes few candidates who'll publicly express support for an increase in the minimum wage, apparently understands that better pay is essential to attracting good workers.

I got a copy of a solicitation from the GOP for part-time help in the runup to the election:

The Republican Party of Arkansas is hiring students to work from now until several days after the election in November.

Qualified candidates well be self-motivated and pay close attention to detail. Other qualifications include
· A comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft word and Microsoft Excel
· Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
· A strong interest in politics and campaigns

Students will work directly with experienced field staff and community leaders in South Arkansas.
Responsibilities include
· Staffing voter registration drives
· Training and recruiting volunteers
· Excel work
· Research
· Event building
· Making voter contacts

Hours are flexible; may work up to 50 hours per month. Pay is $9/hour.

Interested? Contact is Logan@ArkansasGOP.org.

Most Republicans oppose the minimum wage measure. Some, such as congressional candidate French Hill, oppose a minimum wage requirement period. If only all employers were so benevolent and all workers free to choose from a wide variety of jobs paying $9 an hour.
