Fox 16 has an interview with Melissa Brown, the 33-year-old woman wrongly accused of taking relief supplies she and others had gathered to deliver to the tornado-hit residents of Mayflower. As events unfolded, she was accused by a police officer whose son once had a relationship with Brown. The officer, Mark Winchester, has been fired from the Mayflower police and Brown has been cleared.
Her truck was impounded. She spent a night in jail, and had to hire a lawyer.
"It was very lonely," Brown said. "I was ashamed of my name. Not because I'd done something wrong, but because these allegations that were false had been attached to it."
