A special prosecutor is set to investigate
BEN LIPSCOMB: Rogers city attorney under investigation.
whether Rogers City Attorney Ben Lipscomb
violated the law by allegedly trying to impersonate a Bentonville police officer to get special treatment at a concert at the Bentonville amphitheater.
According to KNWA
According to multiple sources, Lipscomb flashed a badge at the Miranda Lambert concert on July 12. Those sources said Lipscomb asked for access to the VIP section of the Walmart AMP, telling a concert employee he was an undercover cop. He was then allowed to enter the VIP section.
KNWA recounts another case involving Lipscomb:
Lipscomb was also recently involved in a lawsuit against the City of Rogers, after he gave the green light to the firing of then-City Treasurer Jerry Hudlow. That lawsuit cost the city more than $630,000.
KARMA CATEGORY: I hope to pass along shortly another piece of information related to Ben Lipscomb and some work he did in Rogers during the mayoral tenure of Steve Womack,
now a Republican congressman. Womack showed his own bullying proclivities in the episode, which is about fear of immigrants in reporting crimes to the police because they thought Womack's heavy-handed immigration policy might get families deported. It's a telling example of power wielded against the powerless. More later.
