Pulaski jail back open

The Pulaski sheriff's office said the county detention facility is again open to all comers after having been closed July 1 to all but violent offenders. The inmate count stood at 1,146 this morning, with a capacity of 1,210.

Monday, the state was to begin moving state inmates into a newly opened county building that will be operated with money appropriated in the recent special session. This is expected to ease the burden on the county's main detention facility from holding state inmates that should be in overstuffed state prisons.
