The Wednesday line is open. Final note:

* FORMER COP CONVICTED ON ONE COUNTFox 16 reports that a former LR cop, Randall Robinson, has been acquitted by a federal jury on four charges that he participated in drug shipments. But he was convicted on a charge of lying to the FBI.  NOTE CORRECTION: An original post said he was also acquitted on the charge of giving a false statement to investigators.

Prosecutors said Robinson conspired with his half-brother, who had pleaded guilty earlier, to protect marijuana shipments. An earlier trial ended in a mistrial.

* TOM COTTON COZIES UP TO THE KOCH BROS.: Here’s a report from The Nation on the annual fat-cat summit hosted by the Koch Bros. as part of their drive to buy off the American political system. Note those in attendance included Republican U.S. Rep. Tom Cotton, or so conference documents indicate. Cotton’s office didn’t respond to inquiries from The Nation.

Cotton’s program spot:

On Monday morning, conservative radio host and former Koch operative Jeff Crank was to interview Representatives Cotton and Gardner in a session titled “The Senate: A Window of Policy Opportunity for Principled Leaders.”

Cotton is central to Koch aims.

According to another source who also attended the conference, 300 individuals—worth at least a billion each—were present. This source said that the explicit goal was to raise $500 million to take the Senate in the 2014 midterms and another $500 million “to make sure Hillary Clinton is never president.” Three hundred billionaires in attendance is likely an exaggeration; to put that figure in perspective, there are 492 total billionaires in the United States by Forbes’s count. The Koch network raised an estimated $407 million in the 2012 presidential election, according to an analysis by The Washington Post and the Center for Responsive Politics.

Ron Cameron, the Arkansas poultry tycoon, is a frequent attendee at Koch events and his political giving dovetails with their interest. The Kochs, through related organizations, have already poured huge sums into TV ads attacking Sen,. Mark Pryor, whom Cotton hopes to unseat.

This conference was Sunday and Monday at the St. Regis resort in Dana Point, Cal.  Not exactly a Motel 6.

PS — Yon Tom Cotton is a lean and hungry young man. Michael Cook reveals that Cotton’s polling data — favorable to him, naturally — shows that he’s been polling himself in a race against Mark Pryor since February 2013, barely a month after he took office as a freshman U.S. representative, elected to serve an area in which he hadn’t lived for years.
