White, Daters and Associates engineers have filed requests with the Little Rock Planning Commission that would allow a five-story, 110-room hotel
and a gas station
on land formerly occupied by Brandon House Furniture at 12th Street and University Avenue.
Acting as agents for property owner BH Development LLC
, White, Daters has asked for approval of a preliminary plat that would divide the 4.9 acres at the corner of University and 12th into four lots. The company has asked for a conditional use permit to allow construction the hotel — which it refers to as University Park Hotel — on Lot 4 (see above) and for a planned commercial district for a Murphy USA gas station, to be located on Lot 1, at the corner.
At a height of 60 feet, the hotel would be below grade of the University Park neighborhood to the west, the application says.
The Planning Commission will hold a hearing on the application at 4 p.m. June 26
