The Arkansas Supreme Court
notified parties in the same-sex marriage case that it was moving up from noon Monday until 2 p.m. today the deadline for filing responses for requests to stay Judge Chris Piazza's order striking down the Arkansas ban on same-sex marriage.
Attorneys got notice at 9 a.m. today.
This gives rise to speculation that the court has made up its mind at least as to staying the ruling.
Plaintiffs have been encouraging people to get licenses while the window is open. Pulaski and Washington are in business. No word yet from other defendants — Saline, Lonoke, White and Conway counties.
