Update on the search along the Buffalo River for a Searcy County turkey hunter who’d not returned home as anticipated Friday evening: His body was found in the river Monday afternoon, near the point where his hunt began.

At approximately 4 p.m. today (Monday) the body of James Wilson Taylor was located upstream of Baker Ford near Rocky Hollow. The body was found in the Buffalo River by the Arkansas Game & Fish Commission Dive Team and Harrison Fire Department crews. A total of 52 people were deployed today. The teams were debriefed at approximately 5:30 pm and the operation concluded. Buffalo National River Search & Rescue would again like to express its thanks to the many volunteers who assisted in the search and support, the community of St. Joe and St. Joe schools, and its sympathy to the family members for their loss.
