Less than 24 hours after manslaughter charges against him were dismissed, former LRPD officer Josh Hastings has filed for a hearing with the Civil Service Commission which could help him regain his position with the Little Rock Police Department, KTHV reports. Little Rock attorney Bill James, who represented Hastings during two mistrials and Monday's hearing, tells KTHV that he will represent Hastings in his hearing before the commission, and will submit evidence that the jury wasn't allowed to hear.

Hastings shot 15-year-old Bobby Moore III in August 2012 during a call about car break-ins at a West Little Rock apartment complex. Hastings said Moore was coming at him in a car at a high rate of speed, giving him no choice but to fire, but prosecutors said the evidence didn't match Hastings' account of events and called his actions reckless.
