'Cheer Perfection' mom pleads not guilty to rape

ANDREA CLEVENGER: Charged with rape
  • ANDREA CLEVENGER: Charged with rape
Andrea Clevenger, the former reality show figure who was charged with rape in January, accused of having sex with a 13-year-old boy, appeared in court this morning in Pulaski County and pleaded not guilty. The office of Seventh Division Circuit Judge Barry Sims said that the judge set an Aug. 7 pretrial hearing in the case, with trial dates set for Sept. 9-11. Sims also issued a no-contact order between Clevenger and the alleged victim in the case.

Clevenger, 34, had been one of the moms featured on the TLC reality show "Cheer Perfection," which centered on a group of cheerleaders being molded by Cheer Time Revolution, a gym in Sherwood. As we reported in January, in an arrest affidavit filed for Clevenger, investigators say there were multiple sexual encounters between Clevenger and the boy, and that Clevenger and the boy had exchanged several nude and semi-nude photos via cell phone. Clevenger is charged with one count of rape, and one count of engaging children in sexually explicit conduct for use in a visual or print medium. Both are felony counts.
