Investigators with the Little Rock Police Department say that a man killed his father and assaulted his mother last night just before midnight, then yelled for responding officers to shoot him before being tased and taken into custody.

Sean Patrick Johnson, 30, was arrested at the home he reportedly shared with his parents, Ronald and Hope Johnson, at 11817 Doe Run Drive in Little Rock. According to a report issued by the LRPD, officers responded to a call about an assault in progress, and found Sean Johnson standing in the kitchen. Officers found his father, Ronald Johnson, 60, lifeless on the living room floor. Ronald Johnson was transported by ambulance to St. Vincent Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The report states that as police held Sean Johnson at gunpoint, he yelled for officers to shoot him, but eventually laid down to be cuffed. When other officers entered the home, the report says, Sean Johnson “became uncooperative and started throwing his body weight around and struggled with officers,” at which point he was tased.

According to the report, Hope Johnson told officers that her son had assaulted her and Ronald Johnson with a knife. The motive for the altercation isn’t spelled out in the report. Hope Johnson told officers that her husband and son had struggled over the knife, and that during the fight, Sean Johnson had pushed his father down, kicking and hitting him in the head. During the struggle, Hope Johnson told police, she was able to take the knife and hide it in a corner.
