Lindsey’s out sick today so I filled in with Max, who is about to embark on a journey to Africa, so get your fix now. We covered the latest on shenanigans from Mike Maggio and Gilbert Baker, the Koch brothers spending big in Arkansas, the legislature overriding the governor’s veto of an illegally enacted tax break for frackers, newly elected Speaker-designate Jeremy Gillam, a rare chance to agree with Rep. Andy Mayberry, and a federal judge striking down Sen. Jason Rapert‘s 12-week ban on abortions. Phew! Mostly depressing take on the week’s news, but we have some uplifting endorsements: Max plugs the FX show “The Americans” (and the virtues of travelling far, far away from the Arkansas legislature) and I endorse the Indian festival Holi, which the Vedanta Society will celebrate this Sunday at Maumelle Park at 11:00 a.m.
