The Searcy Daily Citizen reports that a roadside tamale stand busted for selling tamales made with deer meat has reopened after passing a health inspection. The owner says he’d taken venison to make special order tamales and didn’t know it wasn’t legal. Tests apparently haven’t turned up evidence of any other critters in the mix.

The owner and his wife still face charges brought after a Game and Fish undercover probe.
