This just in from Benji Hardy of the Legislative Digest, who's sitting in an education meeting at the Capitol today:
He says it appears that Arkansas Education Director Tom Kimbrell,
who was interviewed last week for a coming opening in the job of superintendent of the Fayetteville School District,
has withdrawn his application for that job.
is no longer seeking the job.
He announced at the start of the committee meeting that he'd asked to withdraw his name from consideration. No elaboration as yet. A spokesman for the department responded to my query by saying: "Dr. Kimbrell never applied for the position. He did go to Fayetteville for a preliminary visit; however, he feels it is best for him to stay where he currently is."
