STAYING BUSY: 188th gains from bill backed by Sen. Pryor, opposed by opponent Cotton.
A news story in Fort Smith notes
that the recently passed catch-all federal appropriations bill
included $40 million that will go in part to pay for a transition of mission of the 188th Air National Guard fighter wing
at Fort Smith to drone operation. That means jobs. And Sen. Mark Pryor
is paired with the measure because he supported it and long efforts to save a mission for the wing.
The story would have been complete if, when mentioning that Rep. Tom Cotton
is opposing Pryor for re-election, it had also added that Cotton voted against the appropriation
that included the money for Fort Smith's fighter wing.
