A friend sent a link to the semi-finalist list for the 2014 edition of the prestigious Intel science talent search competition.

The list of 300, from which 40  finalists will be chosen to compete for a $100,000 prize, includes one Arkansan:

Nathanael Yongxiang Ji, 17
Little Rock Central High School
Project: Engineered Cell-cell Communication Utilizing Exosomes with miRNA and Protein

They still teach science at Central. But if creationism is more your thing, the Waltons are helping start the Quest charter middle school and high school in Chenal Valley that might be of interest, if its operator's work in Texas is any clue.
