Andrea Lea "Andi" Davis, 36, a Hot Springs lawyer, was arrested by the Garland County sheriff's office today on a felony theft of property charge. The jail docket shows a Jan. 28 district court appearance.

Attorney General Dustin McDaniel in December 2012 abandoned plans to make a race for governor this year after admitting an inappropriate relationship with Davis, a relationship that was revealed in court papers about a custody dispute in which  Davis was involved.

Davis has been in the news for other reasons, too, including being questioned in the 2012 shooting death of Maxwell Anderson at her home. No one has been charged in that case. Sources have told us that self-defense was claimed by the person who shot Anderson, but the case remains under investigation.

I'm awaiting a report from the sheriff on the theft charge, but a spokesman said it is unrelated to any other cases involving Davis.

UPDATE: It concerns a $1,500 trailer reportedly found at her house. The report says the sale of items missing with the trailer on Craigslist led them to the residence.

Hee's the arrest report.
