The Wall Street Journal passes along an annual survey by an Indiana finance professor aimed at putting a dollar value on college football teams.
No. 1? Texas, at $875 million.
No. 18, said to be worth $315 million. But we can't rest on those laurels. We trail seven other SEC schools.
The study looks at revenues and expenses and made adjustments based on risk assessments (motorcycle wrecks?) and growth projections to arrive a figure approximating a pro franchise. The subject spurs endless debate on the web
, of course, as to whether it's reliable. Heck, the facilities are worth that much, aren't they?
